Welcome to Legends Miniature Australian Shepherds. We are set in a small horse community called “Norco”, located in sunny Southern California. We are about approx. 30 minutes east of Disneyland.

Here at Legends Miniature Australian Shepherds, we raise and breed quality Toy and Miniature Australian Shepherds. We are a small hobby breeder doing our best to provide quality, healthty pets to loving families. We began our adventure into the Miniature Australian Shepherds in 2004 and we take our experience from showing and breeding Labradors prior and put that knowledge into our Miniature Australian Shepherds breeding program. Our ultimate goal is to produce sound, healthy puppies with intellegence and personality…and all the qualities that meet the expectations of a Miniature Australian Shepherd.

Miniature and Toy Australian Shepherds are similiar to the standard size Australian Shepherds, but just in smaller packages. The Minis height ranges from 14″-18″ and can weigh between 20 and 40lbs. The Toys are under 14″. The Mini Aussies are entirely devoted to thier family and make excellent watch dogs and companions. They are gentle with children and good with other pets. Because of their strong herding/working instincts, they do good with families who are willing to spend time providing them with obedience training. Like all dogs, they do require a moderate amount of excercise. The minis are relatively quiet, except when they feel their family should be warned of something out of the ordinary, so barking is not usually an issue. My motto is: if you won’t let your child get away with a bad behavior, you should expect the same from you dog. I believe a bad behaved dog is the fault of the owner, not the dog. The Miniature Australian Shepherds make excellent pets and family companions. Here’s a little interesting fact: just recently late one evening I had crawled into bed and was just dozing off when my dogs started barking..you know that bark that means somethings up…I get up and go to the front door to have a look out front…knowing they are barking at something….and I caught a bunch of teenagers in the midst of toliet papering our house! lol I love my dogs! Needless to say, not much damage was done as my dogs saved the day!

All our dogs are National Stock Dog Registered and we are in the process of double registering some of our dogs with American Stock Dog Registery as well. Our puppies are sold as pets only, so if you are planning on breeding, we do not sell our puppies to breeders. Our dogs/puppies are raised in our home till about the fifth week, then they are moved to an outside, climate controlled kennel. They are raised around our three children, horses, other dogs and our cat, “Jack”, who tolerates them as best she can.
